How do I buy a gun? (See below)?
January 7th, 2009 |self defense, right to bear arms (before that right vanishes), and the ability to learn about them. I've always been curious and would like to learn more. I also want my children to be knowledgable about fire arms also, for the same reason I listed above.
How do I get started? I'd really like to go through several training courses first... where can I find them?
Which type of gun is appropriate?
Thanks!
Single action revolver, double action revolver, double action only revolver, single action semiauto, double action/single action semiauto with safety(on slide or frame), double action/single action semiatuo with decocker, double action only, precocked double action only(with safety or without).
Shotguns: single shot, pump action or semiauto.
Rifles: single shot, lever action, bolt action or semiauto(carbines or rifles).
Wal*mart sells them..
So ask one of them. And also guns aren't really that necessary, just buy a home security system. And for your curiosity, there's gun ranges so you can practice shooting.

Lots of nice folks who have no problem answering questions. There is a strict family policy and trolls are not tolerated. You will have to sign up and then be granted access.Might even find a shooting buddy.
What kind of firearm really depends on several factors. But since you have children involved I would purchase a good 357 revolver. It will take 38 special loads that are fairly gentle to shoot until you can shoot something hotter for self defense.
The class will also reccemend where to purchase the firearm that is reputable.
i think if you want a firearm to for self defense, you must learn how to the firearm works and it's fundamentals. That's your best defense, not just to shoot it.
