Sun Microsystems, Managemark Team Up
January 7th, 2009 |In support of the agreement, Sun and Managemark will launch a joint campaign in the first quarter of 2000 to promote ExpensAble.com as a premier expense management application for StarOffice e-business portals with the goal of reaching 100,000 new subscribers.
Financial arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.
"Managemark exemplifies the type of company that Sun is closely working with to help ensure our portal customers have best of breed applications integrated with our StarOffice productivity tools which can drive traffic, create community and provide revenue sharing capabilities for portal owners." said Doug Kaewert, vice president for market development at Sun Microsystems.
Managemark will use the Solaris Operating Environment as its primary development and deployment platform for future e-business applications and has become a member of the Sun Developer Connection program. The company is also leveraging the Sun Startup Essentials program to develop e-business applications for portal operators.
Based on a subscription transaction model, Managemark's B2B Web applications provide a recurring revenue stream that allows for revenue sharing between host, partners and portals from things such as advertising and site membership fees.
