    just curious if xbmc can use the media center extender remote that ms made (this one (http://www.winsupersite.com/images/reviews/mcx_xbox_07.jpg)), or if a media center remote (this one (http://www.ptme.ch/images/zubehoer/mce_remote_500.jpg))is hooked up via usb to the xbox if even it can be used?

    any light that can be shed on this would be really appreciated. :)


  • yes you can use the remote/dongle combo from the extender kit, it should work by default

    no, thanks for replying, i appreciate it. are you saying that the ir codes are nearly identical so similar buttons (arrows, select, stop, play) should work without any mapping? and that those buttons that don't work i would just simply have to map them out?

  • i am unsure if it uses the same mappings. irregardless, if they do not overlap xbmc has mappings for both remotes by default. they will both work 'out of the box'
