• i just upgraded my xbmc, but when i reeboot the xbox freeze on the xbmc startup logo.

    tried to boot from varius cd/dvd's that i know for sure that the drive accepts, but it still skip the cd/dvd and boots into freeze from the hd. *i think i recall that i loooong time ago changed a setting that disabled cd boot to go directly into xbmc even if a dvd was in the drive, but i am not sure. *the reboot hotkeys do not work during startup or when it freezes now, so i am not able to do anything...

    anyone who can help me how i can boot from cd/dvd, or is my xbox truely dead ! ???


  • if you have the pro version, you can reflash it with your pc.


  • thx, i thin k i have a bootable modchip. got my xbox modded and i am not sure what chip is installed, but i have xecuter2 installed. i have a 80 gb unlocked disk installed, did not realize i could access it from linux. i do not have a linux box right now, but that can be arranged. is there no way to reset the bios so it will boot from cd, that would save me a lot of work.... i guess if i had not set the option to boot directly from hd, fixing my problem would have been real easy. the boot option to not boot from cd/dvd should come with a big warning !!!


  • well it's not dead per say.. but you will have a horrible time fixing it :)..
    never good to disable booting from cd/dvd. if this really is the case i suggest going out getting yourself a bootable modchip.. should get you back into your xbox

    if the disk is unlocked, you can also attach it to a pc and move files there (linux is recommended)
